FREE ADMISSION! There is no longer an entrance charge to tour the museum. Donations are always welcomed and appreciated! April 4 & 5th, 2009 Seasonal Reopening MOS will reopen in the spring on the first full weekend of April. Open days will continue to be the first and third weekends of the month from Noon until 5 PM. Tours are usually available anytime by calling the museum at 260-726-2967. April 18th, 2009 Annual Meeting The MOS Annual Meeting will be held at Bearcreek Farms on April 18th, 2009. The guest speaker will be Guy Gruters, a former Air Force pilot who was shot down over Vietnam and became a prisoner of the North Vietnamese from December 1967 to March 1973. July 4th, 2009 Fourth of July Parade MOS will again participate in Portland's annual parade. Anyone interested in joining the marching unit or helping with the maintenance of the museum's vehicles for the parade, please contact Matt Simmons at 260-726-6485. July 13 - 30, 2009 Neil Armstrong Museum We are tentatively scheduled to have a display set up in Wapakoneta, Ohio at the Neil Armstrong Museum. August 2nd, 2009 Coldwater, Ohio Parade We will be marching in this annual parade. August 26 - 30th, 2009 Antique Tractor & Engine Show The MOS will be open this week from 12pm to 5pm in coordination with the Tri-State Tractor & Engine Show. September 5th, 2009 Montpelier, Indiana Parade The MOS will be participating in this parade as well. September 12th, 2009 Bryant, IN Parade This is the parade help annually in conjunction with Loblolly Days in Bryant. October 17th, 2009 Annual Chicken Dinner and Military Vehicle Display from 10AM until dark. We would like to expand this event and invite all living historians to set up displays at this years event. Ideally we would like to see an encampment from every major military conflict in this nation's history. If you would like to participate, watch the website for news and updates. We will also be having the chicken dinner from 4PM to 7:30 PM. Come see the vehicles when you pick up your meal! Tickets will be sold in advance only as the caterer needs to know how many dinners to provide ahead of time. November 8th, 2009 Marine Corps Birthday The USMC birthday celebration will begin at 2PM with a guest speaker and a cake cutting ceremony. November 11th, 2009 Veteran's Day Tentative plans are to do a small ceremony at the museum honoring veterans on the 11th of November. The last days the museum will be open for the year are November 21 and 22. |
